What To Expect During Ketamine Treatment?

Preparing for Ketamine Therapy

  • Schedule a time with your therapy medical supervior 2-3 weeks prior to your therapy session.

 

For best results preparation starts 2-3 days before your therapy session. In the days prior:

  • Eliminate or at least reduce alcohol consumption
  • Clear your calendar of any work or plans on therapy days.
  • Detail in a journal what your goal is to get out of therapy. .
  • Take a nature walk, sit by a body of water (river, ocean, lake) or lay down and look up at the stars if your session in early in the morning.
  • Be informed, research, and ask questions to our medical providers.

 

The day of treatment:

  • To avoid nausea try not to drink any liquids 30 minutes prior or eat at least 2 hours before your treatment.
  • Make sure you have someone to drive you to and from our office. You should not drive or operate any machinery, nor any tasks that require extreme focus or concentration until the following day after treatment. You should sleep really well on the evening of treatment.
  • Consider bringing a form of entertain yourself such as your mobile phone, magazine, or a book.
  • During your in office visit our medical providers will continue to monitor you in our ketamine treatment center for a few hours or as needed followtreatmenttent.
  • If you use any nasal corticosteroid or nasal decongestant medicine, take them at least 1 hour before taking SPRAVATO®.
  • Schedule a time with your therapy medical supervior 2-3 weeks prior to your therapy session.
